Alison Wright from Cheshire made the move to join Travel Counsellors after previously

for seven years.
“I love the travel industry and my passion is finding and selling the right holidays
for my clients. However running my own agency on the high street meant I was getting
completely bogged down with paperwork and admin, and on top of that we had huge
overheads and maintenance fees to pay. I really wanted to continue running my own
travel business, but simply didn’t have the time or resources to grow the business
and be profitable in the current climate.

high street travel agency, Alexander Travel, for 21 years.

paperwork and basically anything other than actually being able to do what I did
best –selling travel! I wanted to be able to mingle with customers and get the buzz
from making my clients’ holiday dreams come true.
As time progressed I found this, combined with the costs of running a shop, became
too much. So when a good friend of mine who worked as a Travel Counsellor told me
about the company and how much she loved running her own travel business from home
I knew this was the direction I wanted to take.
Now I am still able to run my own business but am able to focus on my customers
and their needs, whilst the fantastic team at head office take care of everything
else. I am supported in every area of my business, from IT to marketing, with somebody
always at hand if I need them. Plus as I work from home I have more flexibility
and no nasty overheads to deal with.”
